Rambling

The Brookdale Ramblers Section is open to all Brookdale club members.
We organise 3 events per month – two walks and one stroll.

The Ramble takes place on the second Thursday in the month covering between 4 and 5 miles. Lunch is taken at a pub at the end of the walk. It is advisable to bring a drink and light snack, to consume whilst on the ramble. We meet in the Brookdale Car Park at 9.30am to car share.

The Long Ramble takes place on the fourth Thursday in the month (March to October). It is advisable to bring a drink and light snack, to consume whilst on the ramble. We meet in the Brookdale Car Park at 9.30am to car share.

The Stroll takes place on the fourth Sunday in the month, is normally between 1.5 to 3 miles in length, mainly flat terrain with no stiles and walked at a leisurely pace. Lunch is taken at the end of the stroll in a suitable pub or cafe. We meet in the Brookdale Car Park at 10.30 am to car share.

All the walks and strolls have a leader drawn from the membership (this enables people to share their favourite walk or stroll with others)

Co-ordinators
Ramble: Harry McDonald 439 2039. Long Ramble: Denis Downham 292 2350 Stroll: Dr Alan Barker 01625 873412

Details of walks and strolls appear on the Ramblers Section of the Club Notice Board. Members of the section are also notified by e-mail

In addition to the above we have two coffee mornings (scones, raffle and quiz) a year and an Annual Lunch.

This is a chance to see some of our lovely countryside, keep fit and make new friends.
